Orbital Pilot

Details: An indie game project  that I am creating as a solo developer in Unreal Engine. The game is a fast paced top-down shooter set in space where you pilot a ship that is in orbit around different celestial bodies. The player must dodge enemy ships and return fire while they defend their section of the galaxy from enemy encroachment.

Approach: The design of the game is loosely inspired by SHMUPs from the arcade era where the player must use their moveability to evade enemies, battle waves of fire and memorise boss battle fire patterns in order to survive.

Each level is set around a different celestial body with unique challenges and features that the player must learn to adapt to in order to triumph.
